Project outputs: Design library and scientific publications
We are pleased to share two recent peer‑reviewed, open‑access publications led by Sebastien Lafond (Åbo Akademi University), who also leads the team on the design library in NAP4DIVE project.
Together, these works advance AI‑driven and computational approaches to better understand and support nanoparticle transport across the blood–brain barrier, a core focus of the NAP4DIVE project and non‑animal research strategies.
🔹 Publication 1
Zero‑shot evidence‑grounded extraction of blood‑brain barrier nanoparticle design parameters with open‑weight language models:

Authors: Halidu Abdulai, Cristina Manresa-Yee, Hergys Rexha, Sebastien Lafond
🔹 Publication 2
In Silico Modeling of Nanoparticle Transport Across the Blood–Brain Barrier: A Systematic Review:
Authors: Qianqian Xia, S. H. B. Herath Mudiyanselage, Sebastien Lafond, Hergys Rexha
📚 Research resource
Building on the first publication, the team has also developed the NAP4DIVE Design Library:

The library translates research results into a practical, reusable tool supporting evidence‑based design, knowledge reuse, and non‑animal approaches in nanomedicine.
👏 Congratulations to all authors and to Åbo Akademi University on these valuable contributions.
