NAP4DIVE Celebrates Six Months of Progress with Strong Technical and Strategic Advances

Six months into the NAP4DIVE project, the consortium is making significant progress toward its goal of replacing animal models with advanced, human-relevant technologies.

Following the AI in Healthcare and Life Sciences event — co-hosted by NAP4DIVE and AMIRES — project partners convened in Prague on June 11–12 to review achievements and align on next steps.

Key Highlights

Technical Development
Specifications for core components — including nanoparticles, blood-brain barrier (BBB)-on-chip models, ethical frameworks, and health technology assessment (HTA) structures — are nearing finalization.

Communication and Outreach
The official project website and outreach materials have been launched, supporting broader stakeholder engagement.

Stakeholder Engagement
Initial end-users have been identified, and a tailored questionnaire has been developed to gather their insights and needs.

Expert Advisory Input
The External Advisory Board — including clinicians (Roberto Latini, Aki Laakso, Mika Martikainen), policymakers (Sirpa Pietikäinen), and scientific experts (Y. Shrike Zhang, Erika Györvary) — has provided valuable feedback, including the first draft of the NAP4DIVE Mindmap.

Data Management
The initial Data Management Plan has been completed, ensuring responsible and effective handling of research data.

As the field of human-relevant research tools continues to evolve, NAP4DIVE remains at the forefront of innovation. The consortium looks forward to its next meeting in Gothenburg and to continuing its collaborative journey toward more ethical and effective biomedical research.
