NAP4DIVE at the Forefront of BBB Research at B4 2025

From October 1–3, Qianqian Xia from Åbo Akademi University joined leading scientists and innovators in Barcelona for the Blood-Brain Barrier Conference (hashtag#B42025)—a dynamic forum dedicated to advancing our understanding of the BBB’s role in health, disease, and therapeutic delivery.

QianQian presented a poster showcasing a systematic review of the in-silico modelling of BBB-crossing of NPs, relevant for the NP design simulator to be developed within the NAP4DIVE project, highlighting its importance to BBB-targeted drug delivery and ethical biomedical innovation.

🔍 Key themes explored at the conference included:
✔️ BBB physiology and regulation
▶️ BBB dysfunction in neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric disorders
✔️ Cutting-edge strategies for drug and gene delivery across the BBB—where NAP4DIVE’s objectives are directly aligned
▶️ Advanced imaging, omics, and bioengineered models

This interdisciplinary exchange strongly resonates with NAP4DIVE’s mission to promote non-animal models and innovative drug delivery technologies, especially for complex biological barriers like the BBB.
